2007 Legislative Day on the Hill, February 13th - Santa Fe, NM

This year's event was held at the Hilton Hotel of Santa Fe on February 13, 2007. We had a great turnout of both NAHU and NAIFA members as well as many State Senators and Representatives. Our guest speakers were the Superintendent of Insurance, Mo Chavez, Representative Dan Foley, Senators Sue Wilson-Beffort and Carroll Leavell, Glen Malcolm, NAIFA National Trustee and Ryan Thorn, NAHU Region VII VP. Our own Kay Knutson, NMSAHU Legislative Chair, made the introductions and did a great presentation about Single-Payer misconceptions and the Canadian Healthcare Myths. After breakfast many attendees headed to the State Capitol to visit with their own representatives. It is both exciting and worrisome as we look forward. If you have a chance to visit with either your state of federal representatives now is the time to do so. We are advocates for our clients and we need to speak on their behalf before they no longer have a choice.
