The Landmark and Pacesetter award books have been
sent to the National Office. These award books are a history/accounting of
what we have done in our chapters during the last year. The winners of the
awards will be presented at the National Conference in June. But there is a
more important issue here. Each point is attained by accomplishing something
for or by the chapter; for instance, having meetings, gaining members, having a
website, etc. For those chapters that win, it isn’t the award that is important
as much as the fact that they have done everything they can to have a successful
chapter. That is the real reward.
We hope we will win, of course, but we know that
next year is a new opportunity to try again and to improve our chapters. So, in
fact, everyone wins this contest.
Speaking of awards, we have two New Mexico awards
that can be won by a local member. They are the Eva Jean Fomalont Award and the
Pat Miller Award. Nominations are being accepted during the month of April and
the Award(s) will be presented at the May Symposium luncheon. Following is the
information on the Eva Jean Fomalont Award and the Pat Miller Award.
